History

Hippo's friends education and care service was established in Botany in June 1995.

The service is privately owned.

The main building of the service is heritage listed and has been purposefully renovated to accommodate our pre school room. The rear building was designed 

and built to accommodate the toddlers' and babies' environments.

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our children learn, play and grow, and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We honour the ongoing connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to Country, culture and community.

​

As an early learning community, we are committed to nurturing respect, understanding and belonging, and to teaching children to care for the land and for one another.

 

We recognise that sovereignty was and always will be Aboriginal.
